南加州大學-藝術與設計學院申請須知事項

       南加州大學(University of Southern California，簡稱南加大 USC)，位于美國加州洛杉磯市，1880年由監理會創立，是加州最古老的私立研究型大學。南加州大學是一所歷史悠久、科研教學水平一流、有著豐富校園文化生活的世界著名私立大學。南加大的圖書館擁有400多萬冊藏書、300多萬幅圖片、600多萬套膠片錄像。
南加大藝術與設計學院于1883年成立，是南加利福尼亞州最早的藝術學院。學院最早時比較看重藝術與建筑，現在則將更多的精力放在視覺藝術上面。學院授予的學位有：文學學士、美術學士、藝術學士與碩士、美術碩士、公共藝術研究碩士。學院的教學團隊由國際知名的藝術家和教育者構成。每個學期，各種藝術家、作者、批評家、管理者以及藝術史學家都會來學院進行訪問演講。他們在學院講課、呈現作品、帶領學生參觀工作室以及進行團體討論。

二、申請要求：
1、English Language Requirements All international applicants whose native language is not English must take the TOEFL. International applicants with minimum scores of 600 on SAT Critical Reading or 27 on ACT English are exempt from taking the TOEFL. Applicants with minimum scores of 100 on TOEFL iBT (with at least 20 in each section) are presumed to be proficient.
2、Portfolio Upload a portfolio of 10 to 15 images of artwork you've made within the last two years at roski.slideroom.com. Your portfolio should not only represent your best skills in art—in a variety of media or in a single area—but should also demonstrate the development of a personally unique idea or concepts that have inspired the work as a whole. Feel free to include in your portfolio work that you've done for assignments in class, work that you've done on your own, or both. We do not accept images in PDF format.
3、 Artist Statement Your artist statement should not be longer than 500 words:
Describe your creative process: how do you research your subject matter and investigate materials, mediums, and techniques?

南加州大學藝術學院以藝術專業教育為主，開設的專業主要是傳統媒介和新媒介相關的藝術專業，同時開設有理論研究和公共藝術研究專業。南加州大學的藝術學院規模比較小，研究生階段的申請競爭非常激烈，招生人數較少。
